1st April – St Athan Community Hub & Library

Official Opening – Saturday 1st April 11am to 5pm.

St Athan Library has transferred to the community and is now a registered charity known as St Athan Community Hub and Library.

St. Athan library is in the centre of the village, near the post office.  The branch has a friendly atmosphere and a good range of popular books and talking books for adults and children.  There are 6 PCs connected to the internet and A4 photocopying services.

Please support us and come and visit. Volunteers and donations are always welcome.

Message from St Tathan Church

Firstly we would like to thank the people of St Athan for their attendance at the Christingle service and look forward to seeing everyone over the Christmas period.

Friday, December 23rd – 7:30 St Athan Voluntary Band Concert. Free entry and refreshments (retiring collection) – A good way to kick strt the Christmas weekend.

Christmas Eve – Midnight Mas starting at 11:30pm!

Christmas Day – Family Eucharist at 10am – Children, please bring one present you’ve received.

There won’t be a mid week Service on the 28th December and no Service on New Year Day. There’ll be a combined service at St Illtud’s Church, Llantwit Major on January 1st at 11o’clock.

27th November – Christmas Lights

The annual Christmas lights switch on will take place on Sunday 27th November 2016 – and the fun packed afternoon will include fairground rides for little ones, face painting, Santa’s Grotto and entertainment from 3pm. At 5.30pm in St Tathan Church, there will be a family service to mark the start of advent, and at 6pm Clare M will be singing at The Three Horseshoes – where mulled wine and mince pies will also available all afternoon. This year we have some new lights with the switch on at around 5pm with guest of honour Wales and Cardiff Blues forward Josh Navidi.
